2Antoine (?) de la Narde Paris • 1884 Acquired at the above sale on 4 February 1884 for 380 francs, Merete Bodelsen, «Early Impressionist Sales 1874–1894 in the light of some unpublished ‘procès-verbaux’», in Burlington Magazine (110) 1968, p. 343, no. p. v. 135. It seems likely that the «Monsieur de la Narde», identified there, is identical with the antiques dealer Antoine de la Narde, the erstwhile owner of Courbet’s Origine du monde.
