(5), attached a typewritten note by Dr. O. Maurer [Secretary General of Oerlikon Bührle & Co.], Zurich, 25 March 1949, recording a message from Dr. F. Nathan, St. Gall, with confirmation via Dr. [Ludwig] Grote that the sale of the painting had been legitimate; Receipt for CHF 110.000, 25 March 1949, signed by Mr. Mühlemann [acting on behalf of S.A. de Banque et de Placements, Geneva].
